PathXplorer ("we," "our," or "app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains our practices regarding the absence of data collection when you use our mobile application.

User-Controlled Data Sharing

PathXplorer does not collect, store, process, or share any personal data without your explicit knowledge and consent. The app functions primarily on your device, and you have full control over what data is shared. When you choose to use features like weather forecasts, you are knowingly sharing only the minimum required data (like location) to enable that specific functionality.

Device Permissions

PathXplorer requests certain device permissions to provide its features. You have complete control over granting or denying these permissions:

• Location services: Used primarily on-device to track your position for mapping features. Your location data never leaves your device except when you use the weather forecast feature, which requires sending coordinates to the WeatherAPI.com service as described below.
• Storage access: Used only to save tracks and app data locally on your device. We do not access, upload, or analyze any of your files.
• Activity recognition: Used only on-device for step counting features. Activity data remains exclusively on your device.

These permissions are requested transparently, and you can revoke them at any time through your device settings. The app will continue to function with limited features if certain permissions are denied.

Third-Party Services

The app uses the following third-party services:

• OpenStreetMap: Used for map displays. When you use the mapping features and are connected to the internet, standard network requests occur to download map tiles, but no personally identifiable information is transmitted. • WeatherAPI.com: Used to provide weather information. When you choose to view weather data in the app, your current location coordinates (latitude and longitude) are sent to WeatherAPI.com's API, but no user account or personal information is shared.

  WeatherAPI.com Data Usage Details:

  When you enable weather features in PathXplorer, the following occurs:

  1. Your device's current latitude and longitude coordinates are sent to WeatherAPI.com.
  2. This data transmission only occurs when the app needs to update weather information (approximately once every 15 minutes while the app is active).
  3. We request only current weather data including temperature, wind speed, wind direction, rain, and snowfall measurements.
  4. No user identifiers, device information, or other personal data are transmitted with these requests.
  5. Weather data received from WeatherAPI.com is stored locally on your device only and is not shared with any third parties.
  6. You can disable weather functionality at any time through the app settings if you prefer not to share your location for this purpose.

Data Storage on Your Device

PathXplorer stores the following data locally on your device:

• Your route and activity tracking data

• Temporarily cached map tiles from OpenStreetMap
• Recently retrieved weather data from WeatherAPI.com

This data is stored solely on your device and is not transmitted to our servers or any third parties. You can clear this data at any time by clearing the app's cache or data through your device's settings, or by uninstalling the app.

Children's Privacy

As we collect no personal data whatsoever, there are no special provisions needed for children's privacy. PathXplorer is suitable for users of all ages.

Your Rights and Choices

We believe in providing you with complete control over your data:

• Right to control data sharing: You can enable or disable features that require data sharing (such as weather forecasts) through the app settings.
• Right to delete: Since all data is stored locally on your device, you can delete it at any time by clearing the app's cache or data through your device's settings, or by uninstalling the app.
